This significant Moss family dates back to 1964 when Eukera of Balladrum joined us. These bloodlines have consistently produced excellent calves for the Moss including Eulomen who was intermediate champion in 1998.

The well known bull Auldhouseburn Karlos is also descended from this family.

These excellent bloodlines go back to 1985 when the herd purchased Evening song of Classlochie. Bulls from this family have sold to pedigree herds throughout the country such as Evening Storm who went to Colin Davidson’s Skaill herd.

The Moss Kirsty was born in 2000, resulting from an embryo imported from New Zealand. She has gone on to produce an impressive line of very strong males. Three of Kirsty’s sons have sold well to pedigree herds in England, Scotland Northern Ireland. In 2009 she was flushed to Chapelton Eventer E809.

In 1992, through embryo transfer, we introduced the Que family into the herd. A result of a cross of Paramount Ambush and Rally Queen 550B, these bloodlines have reliably bred tremendous females with plenty of milk. In February 2012 at the Perth show in Stirling, The Moss Quebec K027 a Wedderlie Blackdown son out of the Moss Queenie C308 sold to James Porter’s Old Glenort herd for 14,000gns.

The PAS breeding tracks back to our foundation cow, Pride of Bywell. Again an excellent line for breeding females. Past favourites include Passionelle J57 who produced 16 registered calves in 18 years service at the Moss. Passionate of the Moss also originates from this family.
